It’s already that time of year again! The sun is shining, and hundreds of thousands of people have travelled from all around the world to experience The Waste Management PGA Tour in the beautiful Phoenix, Arizona. The tour is one of the largest golf events in the world with more than half a million-people attending each year.
The Open isn’t just for golf fans, though. It’s also a social event. People from across the country fly in every year just to party their ass off. Scottsdale, the city in which the tournament is held, anticipates bringing in millions of dollars in revenue from the event.
There are a few different ways to watch the tour. Parade Style is when you pick a spot and watch the field pass by. There’s also Cross-Country Style, where you follow a player or group around the course all day. Unless of course you’re at the most exciting hole, Skybox 16, priced at $50,000 per VIP box; then you get to see it all!
After a long day of watching golf (mostly drinking), be sure to check out the legendary concert known as the Coors Light Birds Nest! This year’s lineup includes artists like Jake Owens with Chase Rice, Toby Keith with The Band Perry, Kaskade, and Flo Rida. Also, Saturday night will not disappoint with Blink 182 and Steve Aoki performing to close out the show.
Unfortunately, the last day of the tour is Sunday, which also happens to be Super Bowl. Great news, though! The kickoff isn’t until 6:30 that evening so enjoy the tournament during the day and be home just in time for the big Super Bowl party! Well, it’s really just another excuse to drink more. Cheers!
