What a time to be alive! The Floating Cloud, a new speaker system soon to be on the market, is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a speaker shaped like a fluffy white cloud that floats about two inches above its platform, connected to nothing. The Floating Cloud pulls off the seemingly impossible with magnets, but most people will be convinced it’s witchcraft.

Designed by Richard Clarkon, these speakers are truly from the future. With Bluetooth connectivity and sound reactive LEDs, the Floating Cloud gives the appearance of a lightning storm in your living room. You can even change the colors of the cloud to fit the tone and tempo of whatever music you choose. The lightning of the cloud flashes in tune with the music being played, so just imagine the difference between playing dreary jazz and dubstep. It seems like the speakers naturally crave to play mellow music, perfect for rainy days.

While the speakers are technically still in development, the demo video of the product sounds absolutely thunderous. While the concept of a floating cloud is original, levitating speakers have been on the market for years. With mixed reviews of past levitating speakers undecided between sacrificing functionality for vanity, hopefully the Floating Cloud catches on and finds its way to your living room.
