The wait is finally over as the “finest cut of Macallan” reaches its 57th year, and is ready to be unleashed to the world. After so many years, this rare single malt whiskey is now available to those with exquisite taste and deep pockets. Whiskey maker Macallan, and French luxury crystal house Lalique, share a common goal of exceeding expectations and pushing the limits, which results in some of the finest spirits available in some equally fine decanters. This partnership is constantly growing, bringing forth some true works of art of the whiskey world, such as the third decanter in The Macallan in Lalique Six Pillars Collection.

The original inspiration was drawn from The Macallan Finest Cut. The process for The Macallan in Lalique Finest Cut required passion, a desire for perfection, and not to mention an insane amount of patience. In the beginning, multiple casks are filled for maturation with the best of the best, and then delivered at an extremely slow rate of distillation for maximum taste. After 57 years, the end result is a one of a kind drink with a smooth, rich flavor.

The Finest Cut decanters, designed exclusively for The Macallan, have been produced in a very limited quantity of a mere 400 total, all of which are individually numbered. The Macallan in Lalique Finest Cut is available in select locations in the US, UK, Europe, and Asia. If you have an extra $15,000 lying around to invest in a bottle of aged perfection, then you may want to snatch one up. Interestingly enough, only 72 of these 400 have been shipped to the U.S. This makes it an exceptionally rare collector’s item with a large price tag, which is tempting for a well-to-do whiskey lover who appreciates a little bit of distilled heaven.
