It’s loaded with other beneﬁts as well! Not only can coffee keep you alert, it can also help you meet your ﬁtness goals. Don’t worry, you won’t need to throw any protein powder in your French press.
Although you’ve probably already forgotten about your New Year’s Resolutions, no worries, you can still obtain that ripped summer body! If you ﬁnd it difficult to stick to your ﬁtness routine like most people, coffee could be the answer for you. Coffee makes your workouts easier or, at least, makes them feel easier. It also provides antioxidants that are good for your overall health.
According to researchers at the University of Kent, coffee reduces your perception of effort during a workout. Researchers suggest that most of us would rather be lazy or do sedentary activities in our free time because of the effort associated with doing anything else. Essentially, if given the option, we’d basically rather do nothing than a workout.
Another reason we may skip our workouts is because we don’t think we have the time to ﬁt them in our busy schedules. If you add a cup of coffee into the equation, the effort it requires to workout is reduced, so you’re more likely to choose leg day over couch day. Another added beneﬁt, coffee can increase endurance levels.
As men, not only do we need to make time to work out, but we also need to exert ourselves (in more ways than one.) Given the added endurance, alertness, and lowered eﬀort coﬀee supplies it seems like adding it into your daily routine would be a no-brainer. See, there’s plenty of reasons to go for a cup of Joe besides another day on the job or a cheap Tinder date.
